Your taxes, done by one person, since 1990

I’m Rosalie Walsh. I prepare individual and small-business returns, plan ahead for next year, keep the books, and file estate and trust returns, from my office at 593 West Broad Street in Rochester. You deal with me from the first phone call to the filed return.

What I do

Every return here is prepared by me, in this office.

  • Individual tax returns

Federal and New York State returns, prepared and filed for you. Bring last year’s return and this year’s forms, and I’ll take it from there.

  • Small-business returns

Returns for sole proprietors and small companies, prepared alongside your personal return so the two agree.

  • Tax planning

A look at next year before it arrives: your withholding, your estimated payments, and what a change — a new job, a sale, retirement — will do to your return.

  • Bookkeeping

Books kept through the year for small businesses, so the return at year’s end is the easy part.

  • Estate and trust returns

Fiduciary returns for estates and trusts, and a hand with what an executor has to file, and when.

  • Social Security timing

As a Registered Social Security Analyst, I can show you what claiming at 62, at full retirement age or at 70 does to your check and to your taxes.

Tax due dates

The federal due dates for individuals and small businesses, and New York State’s on April 15. If one of these is yours, call me a few weeks ahead and we’ll have it ready.

  1. Tip reporting due

Last month’s tips of $20 or more, reported to your employer.

A note from Rosalie

I opened this office on West Broad Street in 1990, and I’ve been here every tax season since. It’s a one-person office: I answer the phone, I prepare your return, and I’m the one who picks up when a letter comes from the IRS or from Albany.

I’m registered with the IRS as a paid preparer, which I renew every year, and I hold the RSSA designation for Social Security planning. The office is open six days a week — Saturdays until two.
